Please let me know when you add French to the working languages. I am a researcher in French-speaking areas in West Africa and would like to build the network of theatre-makers in the region.
Thank you Jeanne. French and then Arabic are probably the next languages that we'll add.
We're not sure of the time-frame for implementation yet. We'll announce it as soon as we know.
While that option is still being developed I also think it would be great to add something like "French-language" or "Francophonie" to your categories of interest for organisations and people. There are over seven million francophones (in Canada, that term is used for people whose first language is French) in this country alone, and millions more of us (including me) are fluent in it. It is the language of one of our founding peoples, and remains the major language of the vibrant theatre cultures of Montréal and Québec City, as well as of certain theatre companies across Canada. Not to mention our two most popular theatrical exports: Robert Lepage, and the Cirque du Soleil!
Not to mention that it is spoken by many theatre makers around the world!
